Durante la sera del 31 gennaio 2023 è stato rilasciato un video che vedeva come protagonista il co-Presidente dei DC Studios, James Gunn, intento a rivelare alcuni tra i progetti appartenenti al futuro del brand, denominando questo primo capitolo come Gods and Monsters, ed annunciando ufficialmente l’arrivo di Creature Commandos (serie animata), Waller (serie TV), Superman: Legacy (film), Lanterns (serie TV), The Authority (film), Paradise Lost (serie TV), The Brave and The Bold (film), Booster Gold (serie TV), Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (film), Swamp Thing (film).
Ospite del Panama Comic-Con 2023, Giancarlo Esposito (amatissimo Gus Fring di Breaking Bad, apparso anche in serie quali The Boys, Community e The Mandalorian) ha confermato di aver avuto dei meeting con James Gunn riguardo la possibilità di avere un ruolo nel nuovo DC Universe.
